FAQs for donors

1. Why is SimplyGiving closing?

SimplyGiving is closing after 10 years of operations as part of a strategic direction. We are grateful for your generosity and for making a difference through our platform.

2. What will happen to my recurring donations?

Recurring donations will stop automatically:

  • 1.0: Last donation processed on 12 September 2025
  • 2.0: Last donation processed on 31 October 2025

3. When will the last donation be processed?

The last donation will be processed on your platform’s closure date (12 September for 1.0, 31 October for 2.0).

4. Do I need to take any action to stop payments?

No action is required. Donations will stop automatically after the final processing date.

5. What happens to my one-time donations that were in progress?

If you made a one-time donation before the closure date, it will be processed as usual. Any donations attempted after the closure date will not go through.

6. How can I continue supporting my chosen charity?

We encourage you to reach out to your charity directly. They may have alternative donation channels where you can continue making an impact.

7. Will my charity contact me directly about alternative ways to give?

Yes, many charities will reach out to their regular donors directly. We also recommend contacting your charity to confirm their preferred donation channels.

8. Will I receive a receipt for my final donation?

Yes, you will receive receipts for all donations processed before the closure date.

9. What happens to my saved payment details?

Your saved payment information will be deleted in accordance with data protection and privacy laws once the platform closes.

10. Who can I contact if I have questions about my donation?

If you have any questions, you can contact cs@simplygiving.com or reach out directly to your chosen charity.
